The Cité des Congrès district of Nantes, also called the Champ-de-Mars district, is located near the SNCF train station, the Château des Ducs de Bretagne and the city center. It is the scene of numerous cultural and professional events.

It welcomes an average of 120,000 visitors per edition, making it the most important classical music festival in France. Dedicated to a composer or to a period in the history of music, the Folle Journée is a popular gathering but conceived on demanding artistic bases.

The former Lefèvre-Utile biscuit factory, easily recognizable by the LU Tower and its Art Nouveau style, is also an important place in Nantes' cultural life.
